What is a Mission Project?
A mission project is an organized trip to a specific location
where ministries of different types are carried out. Projects are often determined and coordinated by a non-profit mission
organization or church.
There are mission organizations that have projects ongoing throughout the year; with travel times ranging from 1 week to 4 years.
You must raise funding for your airfare and your stay for the project. Often participants raise additional funds or needed supplies
for the project itself.
Your church or group may wish to connect with an organization to do the following:
· Help at conferences or meetings
· Work at camp ministries
· Hands-On work such as: restoring a building, gardening, working in the kitchen, sewing, etc.
· Teach English as a second/foreign language (often referred to as TEFL)
· Help the staff at an orphanage
· Teach Bible courses where needed (based on qualifications)
· Work as support staff at a ministry site, in the office, doing child care, etc.
· Provide medical care as a doctor or nurse.
The list is almost endless!
